Mitosis and meiosis have both a great impact on a zygote. Through meiosis, the two cells, ovum and sperm, are produced to join together and create a new life. It would not be possible without the production of haploid cells. But for the zygote to develop it's cells must undergo mitosis in order to produce more cells and grow. These growing process can be disturbed by many factors the mum can influence. Smoking for example can cause a shortage oxygene which can end in early birth/stillbirth, less birth weight and underdeveloped organs. Also learning disorders are common.
Also drinking is dangerous for your child. It can result in birth defects, vision or hearing problems, learning disabilities and speech and language delay. SO it is important not to consume any substances that can effect you baby and you should be careful with you diet so that the baby gets all the nutrients it needs.
